There are some things that women should never do while engaged in an online relationship with a man. These things are certain to put a quick and final end to any further communications with him.

While chatting online or by email do not write your life story. His eyes will glaze over and he will fall out of his chair. Keep it short and sweet until he asks for details…then provide them slowly and only answer the questions he asks. For instance: If he asks how many siblings you have, he is NOT asking for the details of your interaction with them. He really just wants to know how many you have. Say you have 2 (or whatever is true) and then ask how many he has. For every question he asks you, you should ask one of him.

Nothing turns a man off like a long- winded woman who just doesn’t know when to shut up or how to listen.

Never, ever, EVER lie. I really believe that lies will catch up with you sooner or later. Many women (and men) lie about their age, marital status, employment, height, weight and a host of other things in their online profiles. That is a huge mistake. If you find a man who you are really interested in, he will find out you lied and there goes any possibility of the relationship progressing. So, just be honest. There is someone out there who will like you…even come to love you…for exactly the person you are.

Five Men You Should Avoid Dating:

The Body Builder


This guy will have photos of himself on every available space, along with his own home gym (even though he has a life time membership at the swanky one in town). He has all the latest gadgets and home entertainment systems. Why you should stay away: You will never see him as he is always down at the gym. He will spend more time in the bathroom then you. He collects trophies and likes one hanging off his arm. How to get rid of him: Tell him to give up the gym for you.

The Mamma's Boy

This guy probably lives with his mother, if not close enough for her to pop in for tea (every night). She will have helped him pick out his decor and there will be photos of her all over his apartment. He goes for Sunday dinner and has several cartons of homemade meals in the refrigerator that mom made for him. Why you should stay away: You will never live up to his mother and although he will love and cherish you forever he will take his mother's side every time. How to get rid of him: Tell him you don't like his mother.

The Workaholic

This man is going places, but will he be taking you with him? He is smartly dressed, has great taste in decor and eats at the finest restaurants. However, his work will always come first. Why you should stay away: You have to make an appointment to see him. He will take you to elegant dinner parties then leave you with strangers while he talks shop. How to get rid of him: Tell him, "I’m taking a year off to travel. Do you want to come?"

Your College Lecturer

He is probably older than you, more worldly and gets you a good grade. Why you should stay away: If anyone found out about you, they would say you slept your way to better grades. Plus, he would lose his job and possibly his teaching position. How to get rid of him: Tell him somebody is blackmailing you and if you don’t stop seeing him, they are going to report you.

The Womanizer

This guy will treat you like a princess and is the perfect lover. He dresses well and is out to impress and impress he will (every woman he comes in contact with). He will, of course, have trouble remembering your name, with all the women he has on the go. Why You should stay away: His excuses for not showing up are getting more pathetic. You will have to compete with his phone as he has so many calls to return and text messages to answer. How to get rid of him: Tell him, "I use to be a man."

Of course, there are exceptions. For example, if "the body builder" knows how to give you the same type of attention he gives his body then this could potentially be a good thing (as long as you can handle other women trying to pick up on him). And if you are a workaholic that has no plans of changing then being in a relationship with another workaholic will allow the two of you to focus more on your careers while hopefully having some focus left for each other. If "mamma's boy" mom loves you and you can get the same focus from the man as his mom gives then just maybe... it's a stretch. Remember, it's doubtful any of these men will change so it's best not to try and change them.

A good approach to take in wanting out of one of these relationships is to be honest. This may gain more respect. Tell "mamma's boy" that he's too focused on his mom. Tell the womanizer that you only have room in your life for a man that only has room for you. It's doubtful that they'll change, but at least they'll know the real reason you don't want to pursue a relationship.

Don’t be too eager. It makes you look desperate and it really puts a man off. They are first and foremost conquerors and if getting the person of their desires to like them too is just too easy, they will quickly lose interest. I don’t mean play “hard-to-get”. I mean, don’t push for a face-to-face meeting. Don’t email them or IM them too frequently. Play it safe and play it cool.

UNDERSTANDING WOMEN by ROMY MILLER

Giving men perspective from a woman's point of view, ROMY MILLER attempts to help men get the women they want by giving them some valid insight into a woman's psyche. The problem is, some of the advice she furnishes "UNDERSTANDING "will leave men out in the cold and turn them into the very unwanted "nice guy".

While ROMY MILLER doles out advice like "ALWAYS pay for dinner" and calls men who won't date women with kids jerks, there are some points that make sense. Of course, she is essentially reiterating what every man should already know (and if you don't know the following, then I stand corrected and you need to get your hands on and read this book ASAP):

* Have a clean apartment
* Work out
* Don't be a pig
* Have confidence

Wow, talk about reinventing the wheel here.

Finally, because the book contains too many typos, it begs the question whether this book was just thrown together in a few minutes to make some easy coin.

I respect ROMY MILLER and even agree with some of her views, but this book certainly falls flat where advising men on women is concerned. It sounds more like a rant about men rather than an actual book that attempts to help them.

So if you want to read about the basics when it comes to picking up women, then perhaps you'll enjoy this book, but if you're looking to hone your interaction skills with women, perhaps you'll be better served to look elsewhere for the advice you seek.

.My best girlfriend is engaged to a man she met through a dating sitethey've been together over 3 yrs now. Another girlfriend of mine married a guy she met online. I attended the wedding last Summer of an acquaintance who married a woman he met online. I've gone out with a number of guys I met online, and although no serious relationship has develped, there have been some interesting dates.

I've known of many situations where people had long term dating relationships or married a person they originally met online.
