According to online dating service PARSHIP.CO.UK, Saturday January 30, 2010 will be the night that most people who meet on an online dating site will go out on their first date.
The reason for this is because, with the New Year comes resolutions, and one of those resolutions is to meet someone. So most people head to online dating sites to meet someone. And meet someone, they usually do.
These men and women tend to wait a few weeks before actually meeting in person and a few weeks later, say, the last Saturday night of January, they opt to head out on a date together.
Psychiatrist DR. VICTORIA LUKATS said, "Since 2009, Saturday is currently the most popular day of the week for a first date, hence the last Saturday in January is likely to be the most popular day of the year for first dates."
According to Parship.co.uk, an estimated 700,000 of these dates will turn into actual romances come February and just in time for Valentine's day.
The study also found that upwards of 7 million people will join an online dating site and find what they're looking for in 2010, and from those, 1.4 million will develop a serious relationship.
So if you haven't met the love of your life just yet, why not give online dating a try?
